My parents had a chandelier in each bedroom and in the living room, I used to hate it, especially when sitting on top of the table I stood up and broke on the heavy glass leaves hanging from it with my head. I find lamps to be alright for high ceilings, and spaces where the need of light is not imperative yet, in a small apartment a hanging lamp may become you worst enemy!
