The modern interior design is fast becoming a favorite style of many homeowners, especially those who are still single and are living in high-rise apartments. In fact, this is the kind of style that most yuppies go for when choosing their interior design style. Not only does it give their homes a modern look, but the clean lines and the uncluttered look is perfect for their busy lives, saving them time from cleaning up.
Why Modern Interior Design?
There are so many advantages that a person can get when he or she opts to go for a modern interior design. Like stated above, modern interior design asks for clean and linear features, and with such a style, clutter is minimized. Imagine a living room filled with little figurines and what-have-you’s that fill up much of the shelves, and imagine the dust it will accumulate.
This is a nightmare come true for any young professional whose life still revolves around work and social life. But with a modern interior design, you are assured that there will be less clutters and less of these figurines and mismatched knickknacks that add confusion to the room.
Modern interior design is also perfect for those who want to go home to a relaxing atmosphere. If your room used to have lots of colors that do not look good together, then it will do you good to know that the modern interior design’s colors tend to fall towards the earthy tones, making it pleasing to your tired eyes.
Personalizing Bland Modern Interior Design
It has been said that modern interior design is a bland style, especially with its lines and earthy hues and minimalist approach. But you can always spice it up with a few splashes of colors. Imagine red throw pillows against a background of dark brown contemporary leather sofa. Wouldn’t it give some personality to the room?
The trick to adding color to a modern interior designed room is not to overdo your choices of color. Stick with one or two loud colors (make sure that they go well together though and looks nice with the theme of your room) and incorporate such colors into your room, adding a red modern lamp here and a red large flower vase there.
Or you can hang a very large painting on one wall and strategically place a light fixture over it to make sure that visitors see it the moment they enter the room. Make sure that you do not overdo your colors though, or it will come out as shabby and not professional.
